The Odessa District of TxDOT was recently honored with an Outstanding Safety Achievement Award marking No Lost-Time Injuries in a Full Year. Odessa District Engineer Mike McAnally (left) was presented the award by TxDOT Executive Director Gen. Joe Weber (center) at a training seminar called Short Course in College Station. Odessa District Business Services Coordinator Lennerd Byrd (right) was also on hand to receive the award. Each TxDOT District has four safety-related goals, and the Odessa District met all four goals. In addition to having no lost-time injuries, the Odessa District was first in the state in fewest injuries and tied for first in fewest lost days. The Odessa District also met the goal set in regard to vehicle incidents. The Odessa District includes Andrews, Crane, Ector, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward and Winkler counties.
